Description of the vital signs monitor 


  • Patient monitoring in various intensive wards (A&R, ICU, cardio ICU, neonatal ICU, emergency service, MRI, etc.) or “home-care”
  • Monitoring the limits of monitored parameters through alarm management (acoustic/sound, GSM, pagers)
  • Stand alone vs. possibility of network cooperation (centre)
  • Possibility of integration to IT systems – KIS (Clinical information system)/NIS (Hospital information system)
  • Monitoring of the entire range of parameters, see focus… 

Vital signs monitors


Standard set-up of the vital signs monitor:

  • ECG
  • SpO2
  • NIBP – non-invasive blood pressure (oscillometric method)
  • Temperature (2x)
  • Optionally:
    • IBP – invasive blood pressure (1-4x)
    • etCO2 – capnometry (mainstream technology)
    • other modules (EEG, NIRS, CO, etc.)
